OPENING HOURS | > Scheduled pre-anaesthesia consultations at the CHPG take place in the

Head of Service | Prof. Bertrand PRUNET |
Pathologies treated | Multidisciplinary anaesthesia: digestive, orthopaedics, gynaecology, obstetrics, aesthetics, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, endoscopy, interventional radiology, interventional cardiology. |
Activities | The anaesthesia team works with the surgeon to treat patients during the pre, per and postoperative phases, with the aim of ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.
The anaesthesiologist practises various anaesthetic techniques including: general anaesthesia, locoregional anaesthesia (epidural, spinal anaesthesia, peripheral nerve blocks, infiltration anaesthesia), and post-operative pain management (patient controlled analgesia, continuous perineural block). A pre-anaesthesia consultation with the anaesthesiologist is mandatory for all patients before anaesthesia of any kind is administered. The anaesthesiologist will also continue to monitor the patient immediately after surgery and in the days that follow, in the PACU (post-anaesthesia care unit) or ICU (intensive care unit). During all anaesthetic interventions, the doctor is assisted by a specialist nurse: a nurse anaesthetist. Each anaesthesia site has the appropriate equipment, in line with recommendations on current best practice and a pre-use checklist to ensure maximum safety. |
